Hi all,

It is with mixed feelings that I write to let you know I’ll soon be leaving Metacafe. The two years I’ve spent here have been absolutely amazing – and the highlight for me has been getting to know and working closely with all of you, the talented producers who have been so integral to Metacafe becoming the world’s leading independent video entertainment site.

That said, it’s time for me to move on to the next adventure – a great new opportunity that I just couldn’t pass up. My last day here will be Thursday, November 22nd – no turkey jokes, please.

I leave you in very capable hands. Assaf Pines and Efrat Cohen, who many of you already know, will be admins of the forums from now on. You should also expect to see other members of the Metacafe staff on the forums from time to time.

Additionally, I’m very pleased to announce that we’re introducing three Metafanatics to the forums – these are members of the producer community who have long played an active role, and we’re now formalizing the role based on feedback from across the community by making them moderators. Initially, Kipkay, Mezon, and JP Video will be the Metafanatics, so you should expect to see even more of them on the forums in the coming weeks and months.

As you know, these individuals already have in-depth knowledge of Metacafe and are great resources for answering many questions. We’ll be working closely with them to ensure they always have the latest information, which they can help us communicate across the community. They’ll also help manage forum threads. Over the course of time, we may add additional Metafanatics. If you’re interested in being considered, please let Assaf Pines know.

I have truly enjoyed my time as Metacafe community manager. Thanks for making it such a great ride. I wish each of you and the company the very best and will be cheering on your continued success.

I only had 3-4 months to get to know you - but anyone who can put up with THIS motley crew for two years...
(You're probably now qualified to work as head shrink in any insane asylum in the world...)
I know we had a few "ups and downs" - but you always maintained your professionalism and friendship.
(while I on the other hand was constantly reduced to the level of a stark raving lunatic...)

I'd like to make a suggestion that I think EVERY producer will agree with and even appreciate...

The three new Metafanatics - could they be given the ability to get rid of the SEX SPAM that has been "infecting" the forum???

It's to the point where I think there's more SPAM then Producer posts!!!

Once they start getting rid of it (the sooner the better) It won't take long before the spammers give up and go back where they came from!!!

This is to freekin weird!!! I just emailed you yesterday and told you that I would be so sad if you left! Now I see this thread that you ARE leaving. That's just to strange! I got to say that if it wasn't for you and your help here in the community I wouldn't have stuck around to keep trying until I got somewhere at MC. You were so supportive to me when I first started and I want to thank you for that! I must say that the new guys have some big shoes to fill. No offence guys but I don't think you'll be able to handle this job as great as Talia.

I hope that your new job is easier on you and pays you every dime you deserve! I truly think that MC is losing one of their greatest Assets! Things just won't be the same when you leave! You better keep my email and let me know how things are going!

I've known Efrat for a year now, and Assaf for close to a year - they're both AMAZING people, and I'm not just saying that to clam you down. Y'all know we're in the process of bringing in another person and we just hired a really great girl a couple of weeks ago too, so Efrat and Assaf will definitely be able to give y'all more attention.

That will be one of their main roles. We purposefully made sure we have someone in Europe too (Mezon) to try to cover as much of the timezones as possible to decrease the amount of spam at any given time.



I haven't forgotten. :-) And, no, no videos for PR. ALTHOUGH now that I'm leaving, I'm totally going to have to videotape my 2 year old nephew who cooks (I'm not even kidding). He doesn't like his toys - he goes straight for the pans and the wooden spoons and "cooks" his blocks.

If u do leave u need to come back from time 2 time and post in here u got that ? it's an order !
