Hi all,

For the most part you know about the changes on the Most Recent page . If you haven't yet read them, you can catch up here: http://forums.metacafe.com//index.php?showtopic=8928.

I wanted to let you know about 2 more changes that were implemented this week. I'd like to remind you (or inform those of you who don't know) that these changes are all part of a new, stronger infrastructure that we will be launching next week. We are doing the final testing on it to make sure it works properly and no producers will be hurt from it.

I have spoken about the first change a bit already. For the next week or so, you will actually see the time stamp on your videos change TWICE. The first date is the date you submitted. Same as always. The second date is the date and time that the video was released to Live (Public Distribution) and became available in searches. The final date is when it was released to the Most Recent page.

Many of you have said that your videos were released straight to the 30th page. This isn't true. The videos weren't released yet to the site. You saw the time stamp change to the time it was released to the site and made available for search. I know this is a bit confusing to you, but rest assured that this second time stamp does NOT affect your video's chances on the Today's lists. There are more videos being released every hour, however not to the point where your video wouldn't appear on one of the first pages of Most Recent in the first few hours. The 48-hour clock only begins when the video is released to the Most Recent page. Additionally, your video still needs to reach the minimum amount of ranks required to be released to the Most Recent page.

These changes are part of a gradual change that will conclude next week. For the next week or so, we may experience a few technical difficulties as these changes take place. Please bear with us.

The final change is one you will all love. We have almost completely done away with the problematic statuses. What does this mean? This means that your video will no longer get stuck in review. We have hired extra staff (a LOT - we have more than doubled the content department) who LITERALLY work 24/7 now to make sure no video is stuck in a problematic status for more than 3 hours TOPS. I say TOPS because, generally speaking, videos should be released from a problematic status within 30 minutes of them landing there, or 3 hours at most. This is part of our newer and stronger infrastructure that we are implementing next week. Until that is done (and you will know when it has happened), it may take a couple hours longer than 3 hours for a video to get out of a problematic status, however it will not take days anymore at any time.

Thanks for reading and catching up with us. Next week I will update you about the final layout of our new infrastructure, but until then, I am here, as usual.

I have stupid question.
Is there any way to find out that my video has been released to MR pages other than look through all MR pages?

I suggested some time ago that this could be done through an automated email... Maybe that's one of the forthcoming changes Talia is talking about...
That would clear up a lot of confusion for producers...

Zloy,

I'll quote Talia for your answer:

Maybe I don't understand english? As I understand I will see CHANGE of timestamp twice, not two different timestamps in the same time, right? In this case I should keep in mind last timestamp and number of past timestamp changes. For every my video. Right?

Yes - it's going to be confusing a bit for the next week and we apologize, but we have to do it. As for emails on each video, we are changing that process in a few ways, but I'm pretty sure that won't be part of what we deploy next week.
