Hi all!

As you can all see, and as many of you have partially seen over the past week, Metacafe has had a makeover! The video pages have all had a face lift of sorts, including several more options to help you share your videos and be seen by more people!

First of all, our video player has changed, and it now has a sleek new look to fit the great videos that all of you have been submitting.

* The slider bar, volume bar, and the Full Screen buttons have all been redone.
* You can now rank the video from the top of the video - right by the rank!
* We have removed the Producer Rewards box and made it sleeker as well, showing your Producer Rewards status and earnings directly under the title of the video.
* The Add to Favorites button has also moved and it now appears directly below the video player.

Another big change is the information displayed about the video. Below the video you will find a wealth of information including the description of the video, views, comments, categories it belongs to, recommended links, blogs it has recently been featured on, and more.

The comments section has also been revamped in two ways:
* We now display your avatar right by your comment, so if you haven't yet uploaded one, this would be a great time to do so. For those of you who have had at least one video accepted into Producer Rewards, this status will be shown on your avatar.
* We no longer allow URLs in the comments, other than those that link to Metacafe itself. This has been done in an effort to block as much spam as possible.

The recommended videos have also had a makeover.

There are two new sections now:
* Metacafe Classics - oldies but goodies from the Metacafe vault
* Producer Rewards videos - these are randomly pooled from both old and new videos that have been accepted into Producer Rewards.

You can now find all of your social bookmarking tools directly above the recommended videos. In addition to Facebook, Del.icio.us, and Digg icons, you can now also directly post videos to Stumbleupon, Netscape, and Reddit. This is also where you can blog your video, download it, and send it to a friend.

I hope you enjoy these changes - there are many more to come!

I'm thrilled about the no-URL in comments decision! The new look is pretty slick I think.

Again, it looks great! We've been teased with the new format and I'm glad it is now permanent. I like the avatars on the comments and the spam control. The player looks great too! Thanks for all your hard work and testing!

I've really come to love the new design. I have one easy suggestion and I would like to see who else may agree. The commnts are working out great with alot less spam! Thank you!

Is it possible to make a small adjustment with the layout of the comments? I'm having a hard time reading the comments because the Title and Comment are seperated by the Commenter and the date stamp. How hard would it be to move the avatar, commenter and date stamp to the top? Then the Title and Comment run together as one flowing message... Kinda confusing to read, to me anyway...

Thanks!

Um, I'll pass it on, but I doubt it will happen, at least any time soon. We have so many more updates and changes coming up.
